HOUSE DECOR UPDATE: DOWN STAIRS LIVING ROOM

This is my favourite room in my house, I'm totally obsessed with how the shelves turned out. I'm also pretty happy with the décor I've choses as well.

The shelves were made of wood I got from the house my grandparents raised my mother in. I sanded them down myself and love them so much. The brackets are hand forged from the U.S. and id probably try and rip them out of the wall if i ever had to evacuate, as they were a huge investment. I have the same brackets in my beauty room holding up my perfume an book shelves.

The baskets next to our new fireplace are massive and my nieces and nephews enjoy playing hide and go seek. They also hold my many, many blankets and pillows and keep my cat toys from view.

MELLOW TURNS TWO

My silly girl is two today! I've become one of those people who only talk about their cat and have a million and one pictures on their phone of them and I don't even care, hell I embrace it. My cat is kick ass hahah. 

Mellow is a huge fan of sleeping on coaches with us and goes to bed with us everything at the foot of the bed draped over Gs legs or laying vertical in between us. She wakes me up every morning wanting to be petted for a few minutes then carries on with her day sleeping and swatting bottle caps. With spring weather she darts outside to roll around in the sunshine for a few minutes before I convince her to come back in with treats. 

Every day our Mellow gives us laughs, smiles and such joy. Happy two years you squishy faced fur ball.

HOUSE DECOR UPDATE: BEAUTY ROOM


This is my beauty room, one of the first rooms I ever decorated. The corner clothing racks, makeup desk, mirror, shoe shelf and mesh picture board were all made by love G. Without his help I would have never been able to finish this room. Its my most used space in my house besides my living room (inset coach potato). Mt fav thing in this room is the organization and mesh picture room.

My Main living room is oddly enough the room we never use in our house, we prefer our downstairs living room with the coziness of carpet and our new fire place. I don't have many photos of this room to share, I'm picky about what images I share, perhaps ill add more in the future, for now my fav bowl, books and candle made the cut.

2019 GOALS

PERSONAL
1. Celebrate 30th birthday with a selfie  and share it
2. Wear a bikini on a beach within 2019
3. Loose weight to feel better and healthier
4. Dress and do my hair as i invision but never do because of my weight
5. Finish decorating the house

HEALTH
1. Feel capable and strong
2. Have a more balanced food intake
3. Exercise in some form every day
4. Increase sex life frequency
5. Take better care of myself

CAREER
1. Work hard and try hard
2. Accept where new opportunities will and can take me
3. Research how to best improve the role I'm in for the betterment of the company 
4. Take chances 
5. Become more financially responsible and organized 

RECREATIONAL
1. Go on monthly date nights
2. See live music when possible
3. Read more books
4. Add and post videos to YouTube channel and social media

SPIRITUAL
1. Live life with compassion
2. Love myself mind body and soul
3. Live a kind life, be kind, live kind

OTHER
1. Pay down debt as much as possible to eliminate it all together when possible
2. Increase social media and improve on social media


What are some of your goals? I totally understand keeping them private but I feel a little bit more accountable when I post them to my blog, this time next year I would like to re-post this and then add in what I've accomplished and the progress and lessons learned.

HAVE: a body I love and am proud of to dress in all of the clothing in my closet
BE: debt free and in better charge of my financial situation and future
DO: doing something I love when it comes to working


What would you do if there was no way to fail? I love this Idea as it makes you push past all of the fear and excuse's holding you back. The invisible barricades we think are made of cement and dare not even try to scale, but in doing this goal list it makes me realize these invisible hurdles are self created, so what if I tear them down in my mind instead....what if......the possibilities become endless instead of impossible.

The amount of time it takes for something to become a habit will vary depending on your source of information. Depending on who you ask, you can get answers anywhere from a week to a year. However the most popular answer is 21 days—postulated in the 1960s by Maxwell Maltz, a cosmetic surgeon. But that number was taken as scientific maxim without ever really being tested, until recently. Recent research led by a team at the University College London think they have uncovered just how long (on average) it takes for something to become habitual.  They do not think it takes 21 days to form a habit. They believe it takes an average of 66 days to create a habit. This number trumps the conventional 21 days by more than 3 weeks—so the idea that it takes an average of 66 days may be a surprise to many.

I view my mini goals list as more like a habits list I want to form and have in my daily life or at least on regular basis in my life.

HOUSE DECOR UPDATE: DOWNSTAIRS SPARE BEDROOM

If I'm honest my downstairs spare bedroom is my least favourite room, its a little to gray for my liking, but I very quickly put it together ov4er a week period when I had company coming. I love the artwork but would like to switch out the nightstand, however I haven't found anything I like within budget to replace it, so for now this is my basement spare bedroom, if I do end updating it I will post some photos.
